- Solicitation Number: GS-11-P-17-DC-C-0003 Notice Type: Presolicitation Synopsis: Dec 30, 2016 The National Building Museum in Washington DC has functional issues with the dedicated chiller for the galleries. The current chiller installed utilizes plate and frame heat exchangers and is not suitable for the type of application specification to the National Building Museum. This misapplication has caused compressor failure to one of the two compressors on the chiller. Replacing the defective compressor is very expensive and will not resolve the incorrect application issue. It should also be noted that the second compressor will not operate under these conditions much longer and will eventually fail as well. The objective of this project is to replace the existing chiller with tube and shell type heat exchangers which is more suitable for the design application of the building. The work will consist of furnishing all labor, equipment, transportation, and materials necessary to perform all work in strict accordance with the specifications, schedules, drawings, and other contract documents. The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about January 16, 2017. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored. This solicitation is a 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors and the size standard is $15,000,000.00. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) in order to be eligible to receive an award from any Government solicitation. After completing SAM, in order to download documents contractors and their subcontractors must register at www.fbo.gov.
