Description
AWACS Security Engineering RFI This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) only. This RFI is not a solicitation, nor does it guarantee a solicitation will be issued. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Furthermore, we are not currently seeking proposals. This RFI's sole purpose is to conduct market research in accordance with FAR Part 10 to support future planning initiatives through data collection. The Government seeks to understand market availability, technical characteristics, and functionality of Security Engineering (SE) tools, applications, and/or products capable of satisfying the technical, functional, and/or operational capabilities described in this RFI. Submission of any data in response to this RFI is COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY by the respondent and/or hisrepresentative, and SHALL NOT CONSTITUTE A FEE to the government. Respondents to this RFI may be requested to provide additional information/details based on their initial submittals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the responding party's expense. The Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Program Office recognizes the security environment is evolving and new or updated protections may be needed. New systems must incorporate recent evolutions in system security engineering and existing systems may need retrofits to achieve appropriate standards of protection. The AWACS System Program Office is performing a market survey to identify companies with experience designing and implementing system security solutions and features to protect aircraft-related systems and information fromextraction and/or exploitation by reverse engineering and other methods of attack.
