Description
Sources Sought Synopsis and Capability Survey SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS This market survey is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for supporting and producing field reliable, sustainable, nuclear certified MHU-204 trailers through a service life extension program (SLEP). The effort requires the Contractor to review and refine, as appropriate, the MHU-204 "proof of concept" (PoC) delivered under contract HC1047-05-D-4005 (Order RI-09-0032/0120). This effort shall result in optimizing/finalizing all MHU-204 PoC documentation, design, testing and configuration to ensure production / overhaul processes are synchronized, streamlined, and integrated as appropriate to adequate support SLEP efforts. PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION To address aging DoD nuclear deterrent support equipment, USAF approved a permanent modification program slated to extend the service life (20+ yrs) of the MHU-204 trailers. Thus, contract HC1047-05-D-4005 (Order RI-09-0032/0120) was awarded, resulting in a system-level MHU-204 PoC utilizing off-the-shelf / state-of-the art electronics and hardware. The full-system produced under contract HC1047-05-D-4005 (Order RI-09-0032/0120) did not result in a production-representative article capable of transitioning into the workforce via depot or third part action. This effort shall result in finalizing the documentation and design of the MHU-204 PoC to ensure production and/or overhaul processes are synchronized, streamlined, and integrated to mitigate risks affecting cost, schedule and performance. See attached outline and R60514 series reports (7 reports total detailing legacy system requirements, certification and/or test requirements) for additional information to help gage the type of work and contract scope/complexity.
