This sources sought in support of market research being conducted by the General Services Administration (GSA), Denver, CO to determine if a high highly sophisticated multi-purpose instrument to be used for the observation of surface interactions of new and novel materials when exposed to chemical warfare agents and other chemicals of interest is available in industry. The multi-purpose system capability the Government is seeking includes: 1) in-situ molecule-to-surface elemental analysis 2) chemical bond analysis without introducing the sample to air and 3) gas-phase analysis. The objective of the system is to improve the initial surface interactions in the applications of air purification, decontamination, chemical sensing and other thrust areas in sustaining military operations. Also, be compatible for routine analysis and have multiple surface techniques. The Government is seeking the following information on this capability: a.Is there a commercial product that is commercially available to provide this capability? b.If not, would a commercial product(s) be modified to provide this capability? If so, what percentage modification would be required? c.What type of contract would you recommend for this requirement? d.Approximately how long would it take for the design (if applicable), build, install/delivery and test phase for this requirement? e.Would an on-site visit be beneficial during the solicitation phase? Note: This RFI is not a solicitation. 3. The NAICS for this requirement is projected to be 541712, Research and Development in Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Biotechnology), which has a size standard of 1,000 employees. 4. Request interested offerors submit the following information: company name, point of contact information, business size, CAGE/DUNS number and responses to questions above. 5.
