Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command (ACC) - New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Product Manager Guided Precision Munitions and Mortar Systems (GPM2S) / Product Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (PM CAS) intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source, firm fixed price contract with L3-Interstate Electronics Corporation (L3-IEC), Anaheim, CA 92805 for the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) Chips with GPS Receiver applications compatible with Precision Guided Kit (PGK), with a required delivery date of 4QTR of USG FY18. This sole source contract is intended to be issued using 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Rhapsody application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) is the main integrated circuit customized specifically for Precision Guidance Kit (M1156) Global Positioning System (GPS) Receiver. It contains all of the correlators and algorithms necessary to track P(Y) code within the PGK. The P(Y) code is the specific Government encryption code on the GPS. L3-IEC currently procures the Rhapsody ASIC Chip under the Trusted Foundry Program from Global Foundries directly. L3-IEC then customizes the Rhapsody ASIC with their proprietary application specific to the PGK GPS receiver. This planned contract includes all efforts required to inspect and deliver the Rhapsody ASIC Chip for a total quantity of 25,000 with a required delivery date of 4QTR of USG FY18. The period for this synopsis is from 24 January 2016 through 08 February 2016. Point of contact for this requirement is Jessica Gondela; jessica.m.gondela.civ@mail.mil, ACC-NJ-CA Bldg. 10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 7806-5000.
