Laerdal Patient Monitors & Laptops NAICS Code: 339112 Solicitation Number: VA263-17-Q-0298 Notice Type: Source Sought This is a Sources Sought only; it is not a request for quotations or offers. 52.215-3 -- Request for Information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (Oct 1997) (a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. (b) Although proposal and offeror are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. (c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of: conducting market research to identify potential sources for a potential procurement of Ultrasound Thoracentesis Trainers for VISN 23. To assist interested parties, a brief/general description (not all inclusive) is provided below: The Network Contracting Office (NCO) 23, St. Cloud Healthcare System is seeking information and sources that are capable of and authorized by the manufacture to provide Ultrasound Thoracentesis Trainers: LINE ITEM 1 BLUE PHANTOM ULTRASOUND CAPABLE THORACENTESIS TRAINER PART #BPP-107 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL Include chest tube and ultrasound guided thoracentesis model capabilities for ultrasound guided thoracentesis, pneumothorax and hemothorax. Include chest training platform. Include ultra-durable ultrasound tissue for guided fine needle fluid aspirations. Include small caliber catheter placements. Include non-ultrasound tissue insert module for large bore chest tube placements. Accommodate anterior portal for small bore chest tubes. Include Ultrasound guided thoracentesis and blind insertion chest tube thoracostomy training model Allow user selected positioning; can be arranged in a variety of positions allowing users to learn how to perform procedures in the upright, supine, and right lateral decubitus positions Must contains an ultrasound tissue module and two non-ultrasound chest portals (anterior and lateral positions) Ultrasound tissue module must contain the chest wall, pleural cavity, lung, atelectatic lung, ribs, and a variety of pleural effusion fluid pockets Non-ultrasound chest portals must be designed for thoracostomy chest tube insertions and contain the skin layers, fat, ribs, and pleural lining Must have superb ultrasound imaging characteristics Ultrasound tissue must be ultra-durable; self healing tissue and extremely realistic in ultrasound imaging characteristics and feel like real human tissue Pleural fluid that is removed during thoracentesis procedural training must be easily refilled using quick fill port Ultrasound tissues must match the acoustic characteristics of real human tissue so when using ultrasound on the training models, the user experiences the same quality expected from imaging patients in a clinical environment LINE ITEM 2 BLUE PHANTOM THORACENTESIS SOFT STORAGE CARRYING CASE PART #ACC-BPP10 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL Trainer must be accompanied by durable soft-sided carrying case for light transport and storage. LINE ITEM 3 BLUE PHANTOM YELLOW ULTRASOUND REFILL FLUID PART #BPP-804 BRAND NAME OR EQUAL Bottle must include at least 235mLs of yellow ultrasound capable fluid. Fluid must image under ultrasound to replicate pleural effusion fluid. This sources sought is for new items with full manufacture warranty. No gray market items. This is a request for information and sources only, which may or may not lead to a future solicitation. This is not a request for proposal (RFP). The VA will not pay for any information received resulting from this sources sought notice. Information should be forwarded to the Contract Specialist.
