Description
PFD Firmware Update Sources Sought Please see the attached sources sought. The purpose is to provide the U.S. Air Force with updated firmware for the highly specialized critical safety of flight instrument, Primary Flight Display (PFD) unit, Part Number: 832HN1101-3. The firmware update must increase the resolution output of the Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) on the current Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) - Syncho Interface, Part Number: 853HN1165-1, embedded in the PFD). The firmware change must also allow the Syncho card to provide a TACAN search mode bit. The intent of this bit would allow the software status to know when search mode is active to accurately represent the Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) display. The PFD unit must remain in the currently fielded configuration and be Operatonal Flight Program (OFP) loadable by Situtational Display (SD) unit, Part Number 832HN1201-3. The PFD and SD are parts of the Center Display Unit (CDU) Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) of the F-16 Blocks 30, 32, 40, 42, 50, and 52 aircrafts. The PFD and SD LRUs are the main interface that provides output/input signals to the other avionics systems, and which displays information to the pilot. The PFD and SD LRUs are products of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS). The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or set aside for the Small Business Categories identified in FAR 19.000 (a)(3). The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334111, which has a corresponding Size Standard of 1,250 employees. THIS IS A SSS ONLY to identify souces that can provide the PFD Firmware updates. The information provided in the SSS is subject to change and is not binding on the U.S. Government. The Air Force has not made a commitment to procure and of the items discussed, and release of this SSS should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur costs for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become U.S. Government property and will not be returned.
