Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The Technical Applications Contracting Office, Ft. Eustis, VA is seeking information on potential firms qualified to provide quotes on a future solicitation. The proposed award will be a cost contract. The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, services, facilities, materials, testing equipment, and instrumentation required to conduct successful Phase One (1) ground and flight testing of a modified M230 30mm Chain Gun weapon system, on an MH60M. During this Non-Reoccurring Engineering (NRE) effort, it is envisioned that the contractor generated engineering effort will include the production of sufficient material and/or kitting to support the ground testing that will lead to a material solution(s) that lead to a reduction in weapon vibration and blast suppression. Upon conclusion of the ground test and analysis phase, the government envisions that two (2) airworthy MWO kits will be required in the configuration that supports the flight test portion of the program. The contractor is encouraged to leverage engineering efforts conducted under previous developmental efforts undertaken for similar/like purposes. Upon conclusion of Phase One and subsequent Government acceptance of the test results, Phase Two (2) will be to procure a minimum of 20, and a maximum of 26 M230 30mm Modification kits. Included in this effort would be required publication changes and user training for any differences incurred due to the application of the modification kits. The NAICS code for this procurement is 336413. Any information submitted is voluntary. Request interested firms submit (1) the NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER of the firm (including CAGE code); (2) the respondents name and contract information, to include phone number and email address; (3) a summary of their product and (4) their BUSINESS SIZE STATUS to Andrew.L.Davis2.civ@mail.mil. Responses to this notice will assist the Government in identifying potential sources. It is anticipated that a solicitation will be issued OOA April 2016 and will be posted on FedBizOpps. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI.
