Page 1 of 1 SOURCES SOUGHT: The VA Medical Center, Providence, RI has a requirement for Firm Fixed Price contract to provide professional Architect/Engineer Services for a complete design package to Expand and Renovate the 6B Medical/Surgical Inpatient Nursing Unit, Project Number 650-320 to include a 7,445 square foot addition to Building Number 1and the renovation of 2,524 square feet of existing space within Building Number 1 for a total of 9,969 square feet. This is not a Request for Proposal; this is a Sources Sought document only. The purpose of this notice is to determine if there are qualified SDVOSBs or VOSBs that have the experience in A/E Services for a complete design to Expand and Renovate a Medical/Surgical Inpatient Nursing Unit and if such businesses are interested in this procurement. The NAICS code is 541310 and the small business size standard is $7.5 million. Interested SDVOSB or VOSB firms should indicate their interest to the Contracting Officer not later than 18 calendar days from the date of this notice via email to Sandra.Mosca@va.gov. The following information is requested in response to this notice: Evidence of verification in Vet Biz as an SDVOSB or VOSB firm under NAICS code 541310. A positive statement of your intention to submit a qualifications package in response to this notice. Evidence of your experience in A/E Services for a complete design for expanding and renovating a Nursing Unit with a minimum of two (2) located at a medical facility (please provide contract descriptions, contract dollar amounts and telephone numbers for points of contact no photographs). The estimated magnitude of construction costs for this project ranges between $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. Evidence of your experience in the design of elevated structures of similar construction and magnitude with a minimum of one (1) located at a medical facility (please provide contract descriptions, contract dollar amounts and telephone numbers for points of contact no photographs). Proof of professional liability insurance required to cover this project in the amount of at least $1 Million. Evidence your firms office is within a 200 mile radius of the Providence VA Medical Center located at 830 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence, RI 02908. All information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on the availability of interested SDVOSB or VOSB concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in an A/E firm not being considered as an interested SDVOSB or VOSB concern. If adequate interest is not received from SDVOSB or VOSB concerns by 18 calendar days from the date of this notice, this action will not be set-aside for SDVOSB or VOSB firms. SDVOSB or VOSB firms must be verified by the Center for Veteran Enterprises (CVE) under NAICS 541310. PROJECT INFORMATION: Provide professional Architect/Engineer Services to expand and renovate the 6B Medical/Surgical Inpatient Nursing Unit to include, but not limited to site investigations; analysis; design; preparation of specifications and drawings; preparations of cost estimates; construction period services; preparation of as-built record drawings; site visits during construction; safety, industrial hygiene, fire safety and environmental management (GEMS) services; and project management and inspection services. The VAMC, Providence is in need of a new state of the art inpatient nursing unit free of deficiencies. This new nursing unit will provide patients and staff a safe, modern, attractive and energy efficient high performance work space. The Project will included include a 7,445 square foot addition to Building Number 1and the renovation of 2,524 square feet of existing space within Building Number 1 for a total of 9,969 square feet. The total square foot area of the project may be increased by no more than 10%, and only if the increase in square footage can be supported by the project funding limitation. The area of the addition and renovation may be reduced as needed to ensure the project meets the funding limitations. An addition to the 6th floor will require a support structure approximately 60 feet in height directly over Building Number 4 which is an occupied structure. The relocation of staff and operations during construction is not guaranteed. This must be taken into account and addressed within the design and impact costs must be defined and tracked. The A/E shall conduct surveys, perform structure investigations, meet with staff, document searches and reviews required to obtain and compile information necessary to verify existing conditions to the extent needed for the design and preparation of comprehensive constructions for this project.
