Description
In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, the U.S Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to IMPREX, INC. to purchase the IMPREX Model S-24 x 30-MVR Vertical Three-Phase Vacuum-Pressure Impregnation System. This is considered a sole source to IMPREX, INC. because, to the best of the NETL ™s knowledge, based on market research conducted IMPREX, INC. is the only known source that can provide this IMPREX system. No other companies other than Imprex, Inc. were found to have a Vacuum Pressure Impregnation System that meet NETL's criteria set (namely, size and flexibility) like the Imprex system. Imprex Model S-24 X 30-MVR Three-Phase offers a high degree of flexibility over conventional two-tank impregnation systems. Specifically, the one vertical tank chamber will store both resin and parts basket, which reduces the required amount of resin solution (8-12 gallons). Because of this advantage, the Imprex system will allow for a multi-purpose prototype station for experimentation with a variety of impregnating solutions. Imprex, Inc. does not have any authorized distributors in the U.S. No known potential alternate sources exist which could satisfy NETL's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the NETL requirement described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 5:00 PM ET on February 18, 2017. Responses must be submitted in writing to the Contract Specialist email at Robert.Mohn@netl.doe.gov no later than the time and date noted above. Telephone responses and requests will not be received. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
