- The Marine Corps Regional Contracting Office, Parris Island, SC is issuing this Sources Sought - Request for Information (RFI) in support of market research efforts to identify potential contractors to support the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island (MCRDPI) rifle rack system requirements. It is requested that interested contractors responding to this RFI provide business size, standard warranty information, standard lead times, standard terms & conditions, and product literature associated with the contractor's product that can meet or exceed the Rifle Rack salient characteristics provided below. Any questions regarding this RFI should be sent to vanessa.rodgers@usmc.mil Rifle Rack System Salient Characteristics 1. Weapons Cabinet/Locker/Rack (hereafter referred to as "Rack") must be capable of securely storing twelve (12) M16A4 service rifles. 2. External shell of Rack must be a one (1) piece assembly. Min 18 gauge steel. 3. Shell outside dimensions approximately ~45 inches tall x ~42 inches wide x~16 inch depth. 4. To aid in conducting weapons inventory, the doors, sides, and rack back shall be perforated. 5. Doors must have a locking bar and be capable of being secured by a low security padlock. 6. Each Rack must be predrilled/tapped in order to allow the each Rack to be attached from the top, bottom, side, and/or the rear of the weapons rack. 7. Attaching hardware must be secured and encased with weapons to prevent access to nuts/bolts that fasten one rack to another. 8. Door hinges must be riveted and/or welded/peened to prevent easy removal. 9. Doors must be concealable within the Rack when open in order to keep passage ways clear and minimize space requirement between rows of Racks. 10. Inside storage portion of the Rack must have designed support brackets in order to store weapons in an upright position and allow for (12) rifles to be stored evenly spaced apart. 11. Each rack must have a lifetime warranty on all welded components and minimum of Five (5) year warranty on moving components. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS Racks shall be assembled and installed. Each Rack set shall be bolted together. Information is for planning purposes only. No solicitation document exists at this time. Issuance of this notice does not constitute any obligation on the part of the Government to procure these items or to issue a solicitation. In addition, the Government is under no obligation to pay for information submitted in response to this RFI, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information that the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such.
