Description
NATIONAL TRANSIT INSTITUTE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL #R17-3197 TRANSIT NOISE AND VIBRATION IMPACT ASSESSMENT (TPE16) Date for receipt of proposals : WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017 by 2:00 PM (EST) The National Transit Institute (NTI) is seeking proposals from qualified professionals to facilitate its new Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment course. In addition, NTI may periodically request proposers to edit/update the existing course materials. NTI’s Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment course is a three-day training course that is mainly for practitioners who conduct noise and vibration analyses, as well as those who prepare and review environmental impact assessments for transit projects. The course design aims to elicit maximum input from students. A high level of interaction is encouraged between the instructors and participants. The course intends to achieve the following outcomes for course participants: · Discuss the fundamental concepts that provide the foundation for predicting and assessing noise and vibration impacts · Use the screening procedures to determine whether a project is likely to cause impacts to sensitive sites · Identify the types of land uses that are noise- or vibration-sensitive · Conduct simple noise and vibration impact assessments using the General Assessment procedures · Determine the additional project information and data needed for Detailed Analysis of noise and vibration · Identify the most common types of noise and vibration mitigation measures and the situations in which they are feasible · Discuss how the different levels of analysis (screening, general assessment, detailed analysis) fit into FTA's planning and project development process Rutgers University is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to provide opportunities to small business, minority-owned businesses and/or female-owned businesses. These businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. To obtain a copy of the complete Request for Proposal, email Michael Dunn at michdunn@finance.rutgers.edu. The request must contain “RFP# R17-3197 – Transit Noise and Vibration Impact Assessment – TPE16” in the subject line. Telephone requests are unacceptable.
