Description
Army Contracting Command - Warren (ACC-WRN) proposes to release a solicitation for Mowing and Lawn Maintenance Services at RRAD, using a FFP requirements contract, with five-year ordering period. This action will be a Small Business, Hub Zone set-aside and will be competed among qualified Hub Zone contractors. Mowing and Lawn Maintenance at RRAD is an ongoing need during the cutting season and future requirements are anticipated for these services. The Contractor will be responsible for supplying their own equipment and for the following tasks: Lawn Mowing Type One - Performed with commercial lawn mowers for mowing to an average of 1" blade height, in mostly improved areas like around offices, community buildings, PX's, warehouses, etc. Mowing of lawn areas must present a smooth, finished appearance with no grass stems showing. During the peak of the mowing season, up to 220 acres per week may be scheduled of this type mowing. Tractor Mowing (Bush Hog) Type Two - Performed with tractors and rotary mowers for mowing to an average of 4" blade height in semi or unimproved areas like woods, fields, right-of-ways, ditches, vehicle and material storage areas, and roadsides. Mowing of lawn areas must present a smooth, finished appearance with no grass stems showing. During the peak of the mowing season, up to 400 acres per week may be scheduled of this type mowing. Edging - Using a blade edger, Edging requires a trench 1/2 to 3/4 inches deep measured form the surface of the sidewalk or curb, between 1/8 and 3/8 inches wide, with a smooth cut appearance. No runners will be left over sidewalks or curbs. Other Responsibilities include leaf raking, shrub trimming, litter removal and debris removal. Leaf raking will consist of raking and removing leaves to a designated area. Shrub trimming will consist of trimming shrubs and bushes with electric, gas, or manual methods, removing all clippings, applying government furnished mulch, pulling weeds from shrub beds, and disposing of the waste. Litter removal will consist of picking up litter on roadways and around buildings as designated by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) including paper, wood, and metal litter. During peak times of workload, this may require up to 200 hours per week of scheduled work.
