Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Reference #: N0025917N0062. Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one responsible source, to: Depuy Synthes Sales, Inc.; 325 Paramount Dr.; Raynham, MA, 02767-5199. The objective of this sole source award is to a Depuy Lumbar Disc Arthroplasty and Anterior Lumbar Fusion. The exact items needed for the surgery will be determined intraoperatively. Salient Characteristics must include: 1. Have a comprehensive compliance program for the procedure 2. Provide a four way retracting frame that protects patient's key vessels as well as hold the patient's anatomy away from the field of view and site operation 3. Provide a PEEK implant that is most similar to cortical bone to support bone growth 4. Stand-alone without back up posterior lumbar screws and rods 5. The product must have titanium screws that lock in to a titanium faceplate preventing back out 6. Sales representative must be present for the procedure. Depuy Synthes Sales is the manufacturer and sole distributor of the needed items. The NAICS code for this requirement is 339113; the small business size standard is 750 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All information received by 06:00 AM Pacific Time on April 10, 2017 may be considered by the Government. Responses shall be submitted to Renier Valdez at renier.s.valdez.civ@mail.mil. The email subject line shall state, "Naval Medical Center San Diego, Intent to Award Sole Source to Depuy Synthes Sales, Inc." A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NO TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL BE HONORED
