Description
Request for Information Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) Device Bailments The United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Technology Acquisition Center (VA TAC) is seeking sources that produce an Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) Device for purposes of entering into a Bailment Agreement for testing and research purposes. This EDA is required for clinicians to collect vital signs and data via a handheld device and works in conjunction with CareFusion a software image to provide patient care, such as matching blood product with the correct patient to avoid patient misidentification. VA s intent is to push/install a CareFusion Software Image to the devices via wireless network. As part of this requirement, any proposed EDA is required to interoperate and be proven to be able to be compatible with the CareFusion Corporation s Image, which supports such applications as CareFusion Pyxis ® Medication Administration Verification-VA and Nursing Data Collection-VA. Additionally, any proposed EDA must meet all required security requirements for Medical devices, as well as have the ability to connect wirelessly to a network. This Bailment Agreement would be at no cost to the Government for a period of performance of 6 months. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only. Do not submit a proposal or quote. It is requested that all companies interested in participating in this effort please note their interest and submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement, and willingness to enter into a Bailment Agreement. This RFI is for planning purposes only and shall not be considered an Invitation for Bids, Request for Quotations, or a Request for Proposal. Additionally, there is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this RFI or provided under any potential subsequent Bailment Agreement. Your response to this RFI will be treated only as information for the Government to consider. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this RFI or during the period of any potential Bailment Agreement. This request does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or the authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized, appropriated or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by VA in developing its acquisition strategy and Statement of Work. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Respondents would be responsible for shipping costs of any potentially bailed items. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this RFI or for any potential Bailment Agreement. RFI Submission Instructions: Please provide a statement of capabilities that includes a description of the capabilities/qualifications/skills your company possesses to perform this work, specifically to include identification of the proposed EDA and image, and how you intent to implement. It is requested that interested contractors submit a response (electronic submission) of no more than 5 pages in length, single spaced, 12 point font minimum that addresses the above information.
