- 5 of 5 Height-Adjustable Desk Risers - RFI Request for Information (RFI) The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this RFI in accordance with FAR 15.201(e), the agency does not intend to award a contract but rather gather information on capability, delivery and other market information pertinent for acquisition planning. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement and identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for the following: Objective To develop a procurement vehicle that provides height adjustable desk risers for multiple offices within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Description The Contractor shall deliver adjustable height desk risers as described in this PD. The desk risers shall be stand alone and not require any modification of the existing desk surface or adhesive(s) for mounting. The desk risers shall be capable of operating on both a cubicle work surface or a wooden office desk with no modification to the riser or the existing desk. The desk risers shall be of two-tier design, which includes one tray or platform for keyboard and mouse, and a second upper work surface large enough for two, free standing monitors, as described in each configuration. The keyboard deck shall lift with the display work surface. The desks risers shall meet all of the requirements listed in the tables below for each configuration: TABLE 1: General Purpose ATTRIBUTE VALUE Number of Tiers 2 Upper Work surface Height, Fully Lowered No taller than 5.5" when fully lowered. The adjustable height desk risers shall be delivered fully assembled and ready to be placed on an existing desk or cubicle work surface. The Contractor shall provide only new equipment and new parts for the required products described herein. Absolutely no Gray Market Goods may be provided. Gray Market Goods are defined as genuine branded goods sold outside of an authorized sales-territory (or by non-authorized dealers in an authorized territory) at prices lower than being charged in authorized sales territories (or by authorized dealers). THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. If your organization has the potential capacity to perform these contract services, please provide the following information: Organization name, address, email address, website address, telephone number, business size, NAICS code; DUNS, SIN Category and GSA Schedule (if applicable); Proof that the products that fall under this requirement are considered Green, i.e., Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved, Energy Star, etc. Tailored capability statements addressing the particulars of this nationwide effort, with appropriate documentation supporting claims of organizational and staff capability. If significant subcontracting or teaming is anticipated in order to deliver technical capability, organizations should address the administrative and management structure of such arrangements to show how such partners could and would be used in specific scenarios. [Note: In accordance with FAR 10.001(b), agencies should not request potential sources to submit more than the minimum information necessary.] The government will evaluate market information to ascertain potential market capacity to Provide nationwide delivery and warranty services consistent with the scope and scale described in this notice and otherwise anticipated; Implement successful project management which includes: compliance with tight delivery schedules; possible concurrent deliveries; cost containment; and meeting and tracking performance. In addition to providing a capability statement as discussed above, a series of questions regarding capability must be answered. Please ensure the question number is referenced within the RFI response. Below are the capability questions: Based on your experience, does your company have the resources to deliver these devices for multiple delivery orders nationwide? Can you provide discrete models for all three (3) of the configurations described in the tables above? If not, which ones are not available? Do you provide both electric and manual versions of each of the three configurations? If not, which one(s) do you have available? Is there any routine maintenance, lubrication, etc., required on any part of your proposed models? How much lifting force is provided by the lift assist mechanism? Is this full force required by the operator to lower the unit with no loading? Are there any user adjustments available to the lift assist mechanism to normalize the lifting/lowering pressure needed by the operator across the weight range (i.e., from no load to max load)? Do you recommend dual, free standing monitors on the upper work surface of your proposed models? Do your proposed models have a grommet/hole or other accommodation for a monitor post? If not, which ones don t? What type of cable management do your proposed models have, if any? Do you offer a tilting keyboard tray for all models? Do you offer a retractable keyboard tray for all models? Does the height adjustable desk lift straight up and down or another path? If another path, please describe the motion. Do any of your units need to be mounted, attached or affixed to the existing desktop in any way other than just placing it on top of the workspace? What is the length of the standard commercial warranty on the proposed models? What is covered under the warranty? If electric lift assist, is the electric motor covered? Are there any extended warranties offered by the manufacturer? Are any of the proposed models currently on any GSA schedule? If yes, which one(s)? Can your company accomplish these services solely or would you subcontract and/or partner with another company? If subcontracting, would you be able to provide deliveries nationally? Are there any additional tasks that you envision for this requirement?
