- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. NO ACTUAL QUOTES OR PROPOSALS ARE BEING SOUGHT AT THIS TIME. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. This is for market research purposes only. Do not include pricing information; it will not be evaluated. The Government will not pay for any information submitted under this notice. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS), is currently seeking information from any company that can provide services necessary to perform on-call emergency interventional and vascular interventional Radiology Services for VA Central Iowa Health Care System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, IA 50310. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the VACIHCS. VACIHCS is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide 0.79 FTE on-call emergency interventional and vascular interventional Radiology Services. 0.79 FTE is defined as approximately 32 hours per week for a total of 1644 hours per year. (1.0 FTE is defined as 40 hours per week for a total of 2080 hours per year). The Government may award to multiple providers (in the event that a solicitation is issued). Shifts to be covered: Work Schedule: Contract physician(s) shall be available on-call and within 60 minute driving radius. Patients must be seen within 60 minutes of the page when medically indicated (estimated 6 times per year). Weeknight call: Monday Friday 5:00pm 5:00am (12 hours per day, estimated 42 days per year, estimated 504 total hours per year) Weekend call: Saturday & Sunday 5:00am 5:00am (24 hours per day, estimated 34 weekend days per year, estimated 816 hours per year) Holiday call: 5:00am 5:00am (24 hours per holiday, estimated 7 holidays, estimated 168 hours per year) The contract physicians care shall cover the range of Interventional Radiology services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art health care treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by the American Psychiatric Association - http://www.psych.org/practice/clinical-practice-guidelines The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621111, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. The intended contract period would be for one base year and four, one-year option periods. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement.
