Description

The Government intends to award a sole source contract to Airgas National Welders under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The contract requires the following: Requirement for bulk oxygen tank rental and the refilling activity of compressed gas to the VA downtown Medical Center, 800 Bailie Drive, Augusta, GA 30903 on a weekly basis and the VA uptown Medical Center, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904 on a monthly basis. This request is to support Oxygen requirements throughout both facilities without the interruption of service and patient care. The Government has performed market research and has determined that the requirement is not appropriate for set aside for SDVOSB. The estimated annual volume is 12,000,000 cubic feet at the downtown facility and 600,000 cubic feet at the Uptown facility. Contract requires the installation, testing, and certification of storage tanks with the capacity to facilitate the delivery schedule. Scope includes emergency deliveries at a quantity of an estimated four deliveries per site. This announcement is issued to validate the contracting officer determination that the authority of FAR 6.302-1 is appropriate for use. The Government may proceed with this action without further notice. This notice of intent is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
