Description
This announcement serves as a Small Business Sources Sought notice issued for the purpose of market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 for an upcoming acquisition at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Research Services (ORS), is conducting a market survey to ascertain the availability and potential technical capability of qualified SMALL BUSINESS SOURCES including small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, and women-owned small business concerns. This sources sought notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. DO NOT submit a quote or proposal in response to this sources sought notice. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 423450 Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers and the size standard in number of employees is 200. The purpose of this notice is to identify small businesses capable of providing the following equipment: Olympus Custom Platform for FV MPE RS coherent anti-stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and FV3000 Confocal Imaging Quantity: One (1) - The system shall accommodate a 55 by 72 inch vibration isolation table. - The microscopy system shall be used with a Newport timing and recombination unit (TRU) designed to provide dual tunable laser beams from a Spectra Physics titanium sapphire laser with 1040/680-1300 nm emission as required for producing CARS emission. - The system shall provide CARS in vivo microscopy imaging together with multiphoton and confocal microscopy. - The system shall be capable of performing both brain imaging of living mice and rats, and microscopy of cells in culture, using inverted optics. All small businesses that are capable of providing this Olympus Confocal Microscope requirement are invited to respond. Interested small business concerns must reference their small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, or women-owned small business status. This must be signed by a company officer with authority to bind the company. The proposed contract is anticipated to be a Firm-Fixed Price contract. All potential offerors are reminded, in accordance with FAR 52.212-4(t)(4), System for Award Management, lack of registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) will make an offeror ineligible for contract award. Offerors and Contractors may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements via SAM accessed through http://www.sam.gov. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought notice is voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information submitted in response to this sources sought notice. Any information provided by industry to the Government as a result of this sources sought notice is voluntary and the Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. Written responses will not be returned. If you are not interested in supplying this equipment, no response is necessary. If you are a potential source interested in participating in this procurement, please submit a written response with your capability statement on letterhead. Responses should also include the following: 1. If available, no more than three (3) past performance references with a point of contact, contract number, and telephone number. 2. Company name, mailing address, cage code, DUNS number, point of contact, telephone number and email address. 3. Business size status, e.g., small business, 8(a), HUBZone, Woman Owned Small Business, Veteran-Owned or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, large business, etc. 4. Appropriate written information and/or data supporting your capability to provide this equipment. This notice is designed to locate responsible sources that have an interest, and have the ability to provide the Olympus Confocal Microscope requirement as specified above. If your organization is capable and qualified to provide this equipment, send the required response in writing to the point of contact indicated within this announcement.
