- This is a sources sought notice only and it is not a solicitation announcement. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain knowledge of qualified potential contractors and their socio-economic size classification in accordance with NAICS code 485113. Responses will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After a review of the responses to this sources sought notice, a solicitation announcement may be posted. A response to this sources sought notice is not an adequate reply to the forthcoming solicitation. The VA Iowa City Health Care System located in Iowa City, Iowa is seeking bus transportation services. Transportation for National Disabled Veterans TEE Tournament Event September 11-15, 2017. There will be a need for 5 buses this year to support Veteran Teams. Buses will have two sites to load from this year Riverside Casino and Golf Resort and a site to be determined. Four busses will be needed at host site and one bus from additional site to be announced but in the Iowa City Area. One bus needs to have ADA wheelchair accessibility and capacity for up to four chairs. The Companion Program will need a bus on Tuesday and Thursday for their activities. Transportation will be from the chosen Host Site to designated area golf courses assigned to NDVTEE event. These sites may change according to what contracts are secured for the event. All potential courses must be within 20 miles of the Iowa City VA Medical Center, 601 Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. Transportation will also be needed to be arranged according to approved schedule for Companions events (Tuesday-Thursday - schedule and activity yet to be completed). The activities should not exceed 100 miles from the Iowa City VA Medical Center, 601 Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. Daily transportation from the site TBA will transport NDVTEE participants/volunteers on Tuesday and Thursday of event to the designated golf course, returning from the golf course in the evening to TBA hotel site briefly, and then down to the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort for dinner. Wednesday is Alternative Activity Day and the needs will vary slightly depending scheduled on activities for those events. Again, the activity location will be within 100 miles of the Iowa City VA Medical Center, 601 Hwy 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. Projected needs for Wednesday include two busses for transport. The TBA site will load busses for Riverside Wednesday morning. Busses will load teams and leave every morning between the hours of 0715-0745 according to NDVTEE Schedule and will return by approximately 4:30 daily. Companion bus is normally scheduled for departure for their activities after participant buses have left or according to their event schedule. (0830-0900) Bus transportation services would include one bus Thursday evening after Closing Ceremonies to second hotel site TBA in Iowa City. All buses will be operated by a licensed and insured transportation vendor. Drivers will be licensed and insured to operate the vehicles being provided. All buses will be professionally maintained and service records will be provided. The Buses will be clean on the inside and the exterior will be clean with a professional appearance and fully operational. This is not a solicitation and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Additionally, a response to this sources sought notice is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The purpose of this sources sought notice is strictly for market research purposes.
