THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide for an upcoming requirement. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing. The size standard for this NAICS to be considered a small business is no more than 1,000 employees. The VA s preference for any potential procurement is for a VETBIZ verified SDVOSB or VOSB. Any equal item must meet or exceed the following characteristics and have the documentation to prove it. Salient Characteristics: Must have interchangeable objective lenses that are compatible with the current Zeiss Axioplan Must be able to detect fluorescently tagged antibodies at various wavelengths. Image acquisition with automatic focus and iris adjustments for all compatible applications. Flexibility in detectable dyes. Slide holding stage that is removable and easily upgradeable. Automated multichannel image view and color-coded analysis. High quality optics. Must have imaging capabilities to capture and process images Must have a low magnification high quality objective lens of 1.25x/0.03 included Filter sets included must be able to view and photograph fluorescent emissions at various wavelengths to accommodate multiple stains on one section Potential candidates having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated equipment are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Laura Davis at laura.davis5@va.gov no later than 7 July 2017.
