- Description
- Sources Sought Notice identification number: W9128F-17-S-M015 This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for market research purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, QUOTATION OR BID. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is conducting market research to identify information described below. The responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Responses are to be sent via email to christopher.d.thomas@usace.army.mil no later than 2:00 p.m. CST, 28 July 2017. Please provide salient characteristics of market available LED driver (power supply) compatibilities that are interchangeable between Visionaire VSC-1-T3-16LC-10-4K-UNV-WM-BZ-EBPL-DIM, Visionaire BLX-8-T4-256LC-10-4K-5-**-BZ, and Visionaire BLX-8-T4-256LC-10-4K-UNV-**-BZ, if any. Also, please answer questions below. 1. LED driver (power supply) compatibilities are limited from manufacturer to Manufacturer? 2. Fixtures used consistently for functions such as building perimeter lighting and apron lighting are desired to be of the same manufacturer and model? 3. The fixture warranty may be voided if a replacement driver is not of the same manufacturer. Drivers are the most likely fixture component to fail, and as a result may have a shorter warranty period than the non-driver fixture components (housing, light engines)? 4. Fluorescent and HID technologies have standardized across the industry into interchangeable components for analog applications. The LED market is not as homogenized in product availability and interchangeability: a driver for a 50W LED fixture from one manufacturer may not work on a 50W LED fixture from another manufacturer due to different drive current and voltage requirements of the LED light engines? 5. If compatible replacement drivers exist from a non-Visionaire manufacturer, are such drivers commercial off-the-shelf parts or are they custom components? Submission Details: Narratives shall be no longer than 5 pages. Email responses are required. Please include the following information in your response/narrative: • Company name, address, and point of contact, with (h)er/is phone number and email address Comments will be shared with the Government and the project management team, but otherwise will be held in strict confidence. PLEASE NOTE: This is for market research purposes only.
