- Jewel Cave Theater Conversion and Vendor Shelter SOURCES SOUGHT (MARKET SURVEY) (Reference P17PS02094) The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting a market survey to determine the interest and capability of vendors for a possible upcoming project. All costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey shall be the responsibility of the firm. Any information submitted is voluntary. The Contracting Officer will make an acquisition strategy decision based on the results of this market survey and a future solicitation may be issued without further consideration. Information on the second page of this notice shall be returned when responding. This is not an invitation for bid (IFB) or request for proposal (RFP) and does not constitute any commitment by the Government to issue any solicitation. All interested firms must respond to future solicitation announcements separately from responses to this market survey. Any solicitation that may be issued will be posted on FedConnect (www.FedConnect.net) and FedBizOps (https://www.fbo.gov). There is no guarantee that a solicitation will follow. Project Description: This project is located at Jewel Cave National Monument, Custer, SD. The project consists of converting a comfort station/restroom building located near the Jewel Cave visitor center into a theater. It is expected that there will be limited demolition work to include removal of existing interior fixtures and upgrades to convert the decommissioned comfort station into new theater space that will include interior walls, flooring, ceilings, lighting, electrical distribution, and HVAC system. The project may also include the construction of an option to construct a nearby vending shelter that would include foundations, walls, lighting, and electrical distribution. The nearby visitor center and surrounding grounds will be open to the public with the exception of the areas under construction. The anticipated magnitude of construction falls within the range of $100,000 and $250.000. The associated NAICS code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction.
