- The US Geological Survey, Office of Acquisition and Grants, 2030 State University Drive East, Suite 2002, Sacramento, CA 95819, will publish RFQ G17PS00676 to procure an X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Spectrometer System with the following salient characteristics. The USGS is seeking 1 EA XRF Spectrometer. The XRF Analyzer must: Not have special power, water, and other facility requirements. Be fully radiation protected Have vacuum chamber optimized for light element performance Take approximately 100 seconds for vacuum to be achieved. Have minimal or no sample preparation. Have a sample chamber not less than 600 x 350 x 260 mm. Have <25 microns spot size and high quality mosaic images. Have software specifically designed for analysis and interpretation of geologic materials. Generate a 2-D Image of the distribution of chemical elements in rocks. Software sufficient to use data for the chemical elements and determine what minerals are present. Software also shall measure the abundance of minerals (model mineralogy), map the distribution, and estimate and summarize the size of the mineral particles. All RFQ ¿s shall be sent to sevans@usgs.gov. The closing date of the RFQ is 08/22/2017, 1300 EDT. This is an unrestricted RFQ. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered by the agency. Anticipated Award Date is 09/15/2017. Place of Performance is the Contractor ¿s facility. The Product Service Code is 6640, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies. Delivery Schedule is approximately 120 days from award. Delivery is to Spokane, WA 99201-1087.
