Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) Hospital Beds •1.0 Introduction •1.1 General. The purpose of this request is to obtain information from industry to support the government's intent to establish a Qualified Supplier List (QSL) for the standardization of Hospital Beds. This RFI is an invitation to submit to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) Division Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Office (MMESO) the following: technical information and all related supporting documentation for Hospital Beds. This request is a market research effort undertaken by the government which will be used for information gathering purposes. The information received may be used for Acquisition Planning purposes and may help define future requirements for the subject item(s). This is not a request for quote or proposal. •1.2 RFI Submission Package. Vendors must provide responses to this RFI via the RFI Vendor Response Worksheet. Complete answers and all supporting documentation must be provided with the vendor's response. Responses for each salient characteristic should be in the form of yes, no, or alternate proposal. Although explanatory comments may be provided for all responses, they are required for "no" responses. •2.0 Scope Examples of items for this product line could include but are not limited to: Hospital Beds, Medical-Surgical that include the following characteristics; Electric bed with manual back-up, Slide-down prevention, Radiolucent panels, Integrated bed scale, Fifth wheel, Integrated bed alarms, Multi-zone bed exit alarm, Head-of-bed alarm/indicator, Alarm suspension visual indicators, Bed-angle gauges for Trendelenburg, Reverse Trendelenburg, and Fowlers position, Chair position, Patient control lockout ability, Brakes on all four sides, Adjustable length, Nurse call integration, and Electronic Health Records data exchange. •3.0 Characteristics/Specification Feedback Requested : Respondents are requested to provide information concerning their Hospital Beds regarding the following questions: •3.1 Is your Med/Surg Hospital Bed manufactured in a TAA compliant country? Please supply the country of origin. •3.2 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed offer some type of Slide down prevention? What type of documentation would you provide to support that? •3.3 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have radiolucent panels? •3.4 Does your Hospital Bed have an integrated bed scale? •a. What is the weight range of the scale? •b. What type of readout does it provide? •3.5 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have an Emergency CPR position button? •a. Where is it located on bed frame? •3.6 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have removable Head and Foot Panels? •3.7 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have an electronic bed function control panel? •a. How many? •b. Where are they located? •c. Are they illuminated? •3.8 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a multizone alarm system? •a. Bed exit alarm? •b. 30 degree head of bed alarm? •c. Side rail position alarm? •d. Bed height alarm? •e. Brake setting alarm? •f. Head of bed alarm indicator? •3.9 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have alarm suspension visual indicators? •3.10 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have head of bed 30 degree lockout? •3.11 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have patient control lockout? •3.12 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have three position side rails? •a. Full up? •b. Full down? •c. Intermediate? •3.13 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have "one hand" rails operation? •3.14 What are the dimension of your side rails from the sleep deck when in the Full up position? •3.15 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have at least two sturdy grip points on side rails? •3.16 Is your Med/Surg Hospital Bed trapeze/traction compatible? •3.17 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have an integrated IV pole that is removable? •a. How many? •b. What are their locations on the bed frame? •3.18 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a "Chair" position? •a. What is the maximum angle? •b. What is the minimum angle? •c. Does it function with the manual controls? •3.19 For your Med/Surg Hospital Bed please provide the maximum bed angles in degrees for the following: •a. Head elevation? •b. Knee elevation? •c. Foot section elevation? •d. Trendelenburg? •e. Reverse Trendelenburg? •f. Fowlers position? •3.20 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have bed angle gauges for: •a. Trendelenburg? •b. Reverse Trendelenburg? •c. Fowlers position? •3.21 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a low bed stop? •a. What is the distance in inches of your low bed stop from the floor to the sleep deck? •3.22 For your Med/Surg Hospital Bed please provide the bed clearance under frame in inches? •3.23 For your Med/Surg Hospital Bed please provide the bed weight in pounds? •3.24 For your Med/Surg Hospital Bed please provide the bed maximum patient load in pounds? •3.25 For your Med/Surg Hospital Bed please provide the bed fame dimensions in inches for the following: •a. Width? •b. Length to include head and footboards for: •i. Normal configuration? •ii. Extended configuration? •3.26 Is your Med/Surg Hospital Bed able to be extended? •a. Length it can be extended in inches? •b. How is the bed extension activated? •3.27 What type of power/electrical sources does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed require? •3.28 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a battery backup? •3.29 Does your Hospital Bed have a manual backup? •a. What type of manual backup, crank, lever, etc.? •b. What functions does the manual backup control, e.g. Head of bed, foot of bed, etc.? •c. Where are the manual backup controls located on the bed? •3.30 Do your Med/Surg Hospital Beds have protected connectors for electronic and call system connections? •3.31 What is the maintenance frequency for your Med/Surg Hospital Bed? •3.32 Is your Med/Surg Hospital Bed able to be integrated into a nurse call system? •a. Is the nurse call system a "one way" or "two way" system? •3.33 Is your Med/Surg Hospital Bed able to be integrated into a Central Station Monitoring system? •3.34 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have upgradeable software? •3.35 What type of maintenance manual do you supply with your Med/Surg Hospital Bed? •3.36 What type of maintenance training do you supply with your Med/Surg Hospital Bed? •3.37 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have brakes on all four wheels? •a. How are they activated? •b. Where is the activation point/control located? •3.38 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a fifth wheel included? •a. Where is the fifth wheel located? •b. Does the fifth wheel have a brake? •3.39 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have an optional power transport feature? •3.40 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have electrical outlets on bed frame? •a. Where are outlets located? •3.41 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have USB charging ports? •3.42 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have EHR data exchange options? •3.43 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have a frame-based turning feature? •3.44 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have frame-based Continuous Lateral Rotation Therapy (CLRT) feature? •3.45 Does your Med/Surg Hospital Bed have an optional patient lift device to pull patient up in bed? •4.0 Feedback Requested Please complete the attached RFI Vendor Response Worksheet with indicated information about your Hospital Beds. •4.1 Please provide the model number/numbers to your Med/Surg Hospital Beds. •4.2 Have your Hospital Beds been subject to any recall(s)? If so, what corrective actions and/or product modifications have been made in response to the recall(s)? •4.3 Do you have any emerging Hospital Bed technology you would like to share? •4.4 Please provide any additional information including relative topics outside of the specific information requested which you consider relevant. Any information provided in response to this RFI will be considered and treated as unrestricted information which can be used by the Government in any future planning or acquisitions. All information, comments, and suggestions may be incorporated into future acquisition documents, without identifying the source or obtaining prior approval from the source. •5.0 Liability The Government shall not be responsible or liable for any costs incurred by any party in the preparation and submission of any response to this RFI. •6.0 RFI Responses •6.1 The vendors' responses shall include all detailed information requested in the RFI Vendor Response Worksheet and shall also include: (1) Company name and address; (2) Company POC (Name and Phone Number, Fax Number, and E-mail address); and (3) Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. •6.2 Supporting documentations are required to be provided by the offeror as attachments to this RFI.
