- Description
- The Defense Logistics Agency, Warstopper Program Management Office has a requirement to establish, manage, and maintain a 5,000 kilogram inventory of tungsten-rhenium ingots. The buffer inventory will be established at the contractor's facility to facilitate the production of various sizes of tungsten-rhenium wire for use in components of electron tubes. DLA Strategic Materials Directorate of Contracting located in Fort Belvoir, VA intends to solicit and award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Rhenium Alloys, Inc. of North Ridgeville, Ohio, for a period of performance of one (1) base period and four (4) option periods in accordance with FAR 17.101. This action will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 541614, Process, Physical Distribution, & Logistics Consulting Service, with a small business size standard of $15,000,000. The Government intends to solicit only with Rhenium Alloys, Inc. and to award this requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302(a)(2)(i). The anticipated award date is no later than September 30, 2017. The prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database in order to be eligible for award. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. There is no solicitation document. No Request for Proposals will be issued. However, all information received within fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication of this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement for competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
