Description
Requirement specification for dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer Force and displacement •Force measurement to 15 N with 0.01% of full scale resolution •At least 25 mm of travel •Transient (stress relaxation, creep/recovery) as well as dynamic measurement •DMA frequency range of 0.01 to 200 Hz •Adjustment of static tension during temperature scans to avoid specimen buckling •Tan δ sensitivity of at least 10-4 Temperature/ Environmental •Operation from -150 °C to 600 °C •Isothermal measurement or scanning at 0.1 to 20 °C/min under software control •Ability to run test in an inert gas environment Fixturing/Modes of Operation •Fixturing for measurements in tension, shear, cantilever bending, 3-point bending, and compression shall be supplied Software •Machine shall be operator programmable to perform temperature, frequency, and strain sweeps, as well as, transient measurements •Conversion of raw data to stress, strain, compliances/moduli, and loss tangent •Real-time display of specified measured and calculated values •Archiving of data and test conditions and exporting as plain text •Graphing with user-selectable scaling and post-processing of data to identify thermal transitions and perform shifting (e.g. time-temperature superposition) and print results Computer (equivalent to NASA standard desktop) •Intel Core i5-2400 3.1 GHz •4 GB Ram •500 GB Hard Disk •23" LCD monitor •CD-RW drive or better Utilities •Shall operate on 110-220 V ac •Up to 15 amp •Other requirements (e.g. compressed air, vibration isolation, etc...) must be clearly stated Accessories •Vendor to supply turnkey system including environmental chamber, dewar, all fixtures, cables, hoses, instructions, training manuals, computer and software. •At least one day of instrument installation and training
