- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to renew, on a sole source basis a firm fixed price purchase order to National Journal Group, Inc. for continued access to their online electronic subscription. Under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, its determined that only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The on-line electronic subscription is only available from its producer and manufacturer and not through dealers or distributors. The period of performance will be a base year beginning 09/26/2017 through 09/25/2018 with an additional two (2) one-year options, if exercised. National Journal Daily, Hotline and Magazine provide in-depth information on legislative processes that may affect SSA. The online news services will enable SSA to prepare for mandated Congressional Hearings and Testimony that relate to the Congress of the United States to search for markups to SSA programs. This requirement is utilizing procedures in FAR Part 12 in conjunction with procedures in FAR Part 13. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by SSA not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of SSA. Information received will normally be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government does not intend to pay for information provided in response to this publication. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. If no affirmative responses are received within 2 business days, in accordance with FAR 13-106-1(b)(1) negotiations will be conducted with National Journal Group, Inc. as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
