Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for one polychromator, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The combined Synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) number is 21-17-397POG025 utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. Item description: Polychrometer with 6 detector filters to be used in CGAPL for Thompson scattering A polychromator is an optical device that is used to disperse light into different directions. This device digitally records Thomson scattering signals from the laser pulse. A secondary digitized recording monitors the plasma background light level; this provides a reading of the intensity of the laser beam. Findings will enable research to use plasma as a means of propulsion in space vessels that will not require fuel to navigate. Polychromator with the specifications: Model GAPB 1064-4-1K 1064 - laser wavelength in nanometers 4 - number of channels 1K - APD load resistance in ohms The Model GAPB 1064-4-1K polychromator has been optimized for Thomson scattering measurements with Nd:YAG lasers. It can be easily modified for other lasers and/or other applications using different interference filters and detectors. * For performance monitoring, each detector has an SMA fiber optic connector and lens so that light may be introduced via a fiber optic, bypassing the interference filter. ***Question Submission: Interested offerors must submit any questions concerning the solicitation at the earliest time possible to enable the Buyer to respond. Questions must be submitted via email to david.f.palacios@uscg.mil Questions not received within a reasonable time prior to close of the solicitation may not be considered*** New Equipment ONLY; NO remanufactured or "gray market" items.
