Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice as defined in FAR 15.201 (e). This is NOT a solicitation for proposals or quotations. The purpose of this notice is for market research purposes to gain knowledge of qualified sources in order to determine an acquisition strategy. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21) is requesting information to determine if there is any Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB), Small Business or other Open Market Source that can provide Gunlocke Molti Arm and Bariatric Chairs (Brand Name or Equal) to the VA Palo Alto Health Care System located at 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Round tubular steel, 14 guage, Overall Size: 36.5w x 26.25d x 33.5h Seat: 19d x 19h Arm: 27.25; B LOCAL STOCK NUMBER: GK9961 25.00 EA GRAND TOTAL SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Frame: Front and rear legs shall be constructed of 1 OD round, 14 gauge, and AISI C1010 low carbon cold rolled steel. Round tubular steel. The seat pan shall be made of ¾ square, 14 gauge, ASTM A513 steel with 5/8 OD round, 11 gauge ASTM A513 steel bar welded to the seat pan and the front legs. The arms and backs are attached to the frame by means of a 1-1/4 dia. Machined C12L14 leaded steel bar, welded to the top of the back legs. Frame in Silver, Frame in Silver with Casters. Upholstered Back: Shall be ½ thick, seven ply molded plywood with stress skin construction of maple and gum hardwood plies, covered with high resiliency shaped foam. The inside back foam is ¼ thick with an ILD of 44 lbs. and the outside back foam is ½ thick with an ILD of 33 lbs. and a density of 2.6 lbs./cu.ft. PCV foam filled over plywood, upholstered, triple-stitched. Upholstered Seat: Seat shall be constructed of a semi-flexible foundation of blow molded polyethylene shape to obscure frame crossbars and is covered with three layers of slab foam. The inner layer of foam is 1 thick with an ILD of 60 lbs. and a density of 2.5 lbs. /cu. Ft. The middle layer of foam is ¾ thick with an ILD of 60 lbs. and a density of 2.5 lbs. /cu ft. The outer layer of foam is 1/2 thick with an ILD of 60 lbs. and a density of 2.5 lbs. /cu. Ft. The seat is fastened to the frame by (4) ¼ -20 fasteners. Foam over contoured plastic with wrapped upholstery covering. Overall flammability rating for this chair CTB133. Arms: Shall be molded and textured 20% glass-filled polypropylene. The arms are molded to a 38 radius for the main arm rest surface tightening to a 3 radius for the front of the arm. The arms shall be attached to the front legs by a force fit into the front leg tubing utilizing a one way connector. They are attached to the back of the frame with an unexposed 1/4-20 socket head cap screw that threads into a ¼-20 insert molded in the back of the arm. Moderne arm ABL Black Plastic. Glides: Plastic shall be ½ OD molded gray ABS nylon, with a radius on all sides. Leg Foot Boot:.070 thick, 2-3 flexible textured grey boots on all legs. Upholstery for Back: Momentum, Cycle, Boulder Seat: Momentum, Cycle, Boulder Wall saver styled back legs. Stacking standard: 5 high. Rolling storage cart with swivel casters to be included must hold 5 chairs. Critical Dimensions: Standard Seating: Overall Size: 24.5w x 23d x 33h Seat: 18d x 18h Arm: 26.25; Between Arms: 20.75 Bariatric Seating: Overall Size: 36.5w x 26.25d x 33.5h Seat: 19d x 19h Arm: 27.25; Between Arms: 33.25 Warranty: 12-year warranty, with factory repair or replacement of defective seating, free of charge. Glides minimum of 3-warranty. Qualified parties are invited to respond.
