Description
Site Visit Questions and Responses VA262-17-Q-1658 Audio/Visual Conference Room Upgrade 1. Can you please verify if this is a hard or soft codec? I believe we are using the hard codec with the standard-based H.323 protocol and SIP endpoints 2. What finish will you be requesting for the Credenza? The color similar that is currently in place will work (dark finish). If the Contractor feels they can fit all the equipment in the current credenzas, then they can make a decision not to replace it. 3. Can we be supplied the original AV drawings for the current systems? Unfortunately, they cannot. 4. Are there shematics or floor plans that can be shared in addition or if there are no AV drawings? There are none available. 5. Any specific manufacturer for hardware? Not really, the main concern is that it can be compatible with Cisco. 6. Room 706 For the Inputs can you clarify the others (3) sources in the room besides the (2) Wall Plate Transmitters & (2) Inputs from the VTC Codec. For the (8) Outputs so far we have (3) Displays & (1) Content to the VTC Codec. Do we need to population the matrix with output ports (cards) for future destinations? If so, should do the future output ports (cards?) need to be HDMI or HDBaseT/DM/DTP type? To be honest, I don t know the full detail of how those parts come together to make the VTC functional but the Matrix Switcher (8x8) should have enough inputs/outputs ports for digital cards connection. We have three screens that we use in this conference room, so we definitely need (3) HDBaseT Receivers to convert signal from the CAT 6 into a HDMI signal to use with the HDTV. We need (2) wall plate transmitters one in the front (2 screens) and another at the rear (1 screen) for laptop/desktop connection. 7. There was discussion during the site walk about the requirement for a Wired AND Wireless TouchPanel Per Room. Can you clarify if this is still the case? Do you want (2) separate panels in this room? Wired Panel in a Wall Mount and the Wireless Panel on a Table Dock, or should this room just get (1) Crestron TST-902 panel and utilize the Dual Wireless mode (RF/Wi-Fi). In this case do you want the panel to mount in a Table Dock or a Wall Dock? or have both like what is specified in Room 701 & 733? We need a single Touch Panel that can do both (wired and wireless) capability. When the Touch Panel is docked on a wall mount, it s used for charging and controlling. Therefore, the wall mount will need to be wired to the controller (matrix switcher) instead of depending on a wireless access point for connection/control. We need this capability for all three conference rooms. There are times when the access point go down and the room cannot operate. We also need a charging dock on the table, so that the end-users don t have to get up to control or avoid of running out of battery since the meeting sometimes last 8 hours. 8. Room 701 For the Wired HDMI/VGA Transmitters at the table can we assumes there is conduit pathway from under the table to the rack area (or accessible ceiling)? Can the CAT cable just pass through the existing floor box/monument or do we need to have a disconnect? Will we use the existing Table Cable Cubby(s) for the new laptop cables? What is the form factor (or dimensions) of the GFE Dedicated PC that will be going into the Rack? What is the model of the GFE DTV that will be going into the Rack? Can we assumes that the active coax feed will be provided by others (or existing?) We re going to minimize our cost by using the existing plate/table cable cubby on the table but since it s only has a VGA capability now, it will need to be replaced with the HDBaseT HDMI/CAT 6 plate transmitter for a higher resolution signal to the HDTV to meet the request criteria. There are conduit pathways/network drops under the table on the floor that they can use but it may require rewiring to meet the new equipment specs. We currently have the HP DeskPro 600 SFF installed in the rack. The tower stand (H x W x D) dimension is 29 x 178 x 200 mm (1.1 x 7.0 x7.9 in). We like to keep our existing credenza if possible but if it needs to be replaced to house new equipment, the dimension is 29H 54 W 24 D. 9. Just to clarify, are you asking for just (1) Wireless (Wi-Fi/ RF) Touch Panel with (1) Table Dock & (1) Wall Dock. No Wired Touch Panel Yes, just one Touch Panel (Creston or AMX) with charging dock and a wall dock that controlled by wired and wireless. 10. For room 706, do you require 2 or 3 ceiling microphones? We will use the existing ceiling microphones setup. 11.  For all rooms, there was talk about the wireless touch needs to have a hardwire connection as well. Yes, we will need them for all conference rooms. A Touch Panel that can be controlled wirelessly and also when it s docked on a wall mouth (wired). 12. Dose the Vendor need to add a wall docking station to accomplish this request? Room 733 is the only room at the moment. All of the wall mounts are configured for the AMX Touch Panel. If they choose to go with a different model (Creston or the latest AMX), I assume the wall mounts will need to be replaced.
