- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Far Subpart 12.6 - streamlined procedures for evaluation and solicitation for commercial items - as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested, and a separate written solicitation document will not be issued. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-95. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 339113 with a small business size standard of 1000 employees. NIH Clinical Center Office of Purchasing and Contracts is seeking to purchase Brand Name or Equal Equipment as described in the this combined synopsis solicitation. All interested companies shall provide a proposal for Brand Name OR Equal Meso quickplex SQ120. Statement of Objectives: Meso Quickplex SQ 120 Background: The Department of Peri-Operative Medicines research section operates in the Clinical Center (CC), under the Department of Peri-Operative Medicine, Clinical Center, National Institutes of Health Bethesda, Md. The research Section collaborates with the Surgery staff at the NIH by supporting the Clinical Care of their patients who are admitted to the Clinical Center. The need of a multiplexer protein analyzer is to analyze the presence and quantitate the level of specifics proteins present in blood plasma obtained from research animals an human volunteers with sickle cell disease. These proteins server as markers of disease severity, risk of death and efficacy of therapeutic interventions. Therefore the monitoring of these proteins in research animals and human volunteers serves as biomarkers to investigate the progress of experimental therapeutic interventions and help to determine the clinical prospects of such experimental therapeutics. In summary, it tis an essential machine for current research in blood disorders.
