- USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a contract to International Business Machines (IBM), 6710 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, MD, 20817-1834 for an IBM Systems Solution Architect Analyst with a full spectrum of system management/architect responsibilities for an IBM system, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 16.505. Services of an IBM Systems Solution Architect Analyst for the IBM Power 8 architecture at the MHPCC DSRC are required. The on-site HPC Systems Solution Architect shall be engaged in a full spectrum of system management/architect responsibilities for IBM system. The individual will serve as the Linux HPC cluster management subject matter expert (SME) and will be skilled in HPC systems management, Linux maintenance and architecture, and shell scripting. Duties will include a wide range of system architect duties for the DoD platforms consisting of assisting with system installation, configuration management, problem determination and resolution, software upgrades, and implementation of monitoring and support tools for realization of higher quality services including increased system efficiency and enhanced productivity. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code that this work falls under is 811212, Computer and Office Machine Repair and Maintenance, with a size standard of $27,500,000.00. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals. A solicitation will not be issued. However, the Government will consider all responsible sources received by the closing date specified in this notice. The information submitted must be provided in sufficient detail to demonstrate the vendor's ability to fulfill this requirement. The contractor must also provide a description of their past experience in fulfilling requirements which are the same or similar to this requirement and references for each. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Responses to this requirement may be submitted to Allison Hudson at Allison.B.Hudson@usace.army.mil. The solicitation number shall be included in the subject line of the e-mail submission. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 PM CST, Monday, 11 September 2017.
