Description

Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition Contract Award Date: 08 September 2017 Contract Award Number: GS-03F-036DA Delivery Order Number: FA7000-17-F-3501 The United States Air Force Academy has awarded a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for Herman Miller modular furniture components in accordance with the procedures at FAR 8.405. The contract was awarded to Herman Miller, Inc. Market research was previously conducted and it has been determined that this is a sole source requirement IAW FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) Justification: Supplies required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Market research was conducted with only one respondent able to meet the government's needs due to the requirement for new funriture to match existing modular furniture, tie-in to existing modular furniture as part of a reconfiguration of the workspace, and the required configuration parts being proprietary: Herman Miller, Inc.
