Description
Notice of Intent to Sole Source Viking Life- Saving Equipment (America) Inc. Jacksonville, FL Notice of Intent to Sole Source: The Naval Supply (NAVSUP) Systems Command, Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville (FLCJ), FL intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Viking Life- Saving Equipment (America) Inc. Viking Life- Saving Equipment (America) Inc. is the only source that can provide this requirement because they are the only manufacturer of the Viking Quick Donning Anti-Exposure Suit, Part number PS4049 that is required in accordance with NAVAIR 13-1-6.7-2 Instructions. The complete suit assembly provides protection from the thermal effects of cold water immersion in the event of emergency over water aircraft egress. The Viking QDAES is currently authorized for use by all aircrew members, in the event of emergency over water egress, in multi-engine fixed wing non-TACAIR aircraft (P-3, EP-3, C-130, P-8 and E-6). Patrol Squadron Thirty requires 85 Viking Quick Donning Anti-Exposure Suits (QDAES), NSN: 8415-01-593-79343, P/N: PS4049 for P3/P8 Aircraft crews to protect personnel against hypothermia and low temperature. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System Code (NAICS) code that this work falls under is 315990 Apparel Accessories and Other Apparel Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this requirement must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide this requirement as outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 3 calendar days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable items are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining this product through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made. Response to this notice is to be sent to jacklyn.roberts@navy.mil.
