- Description
- Attachment B Attachment A This Request for Information (RFI) notice is issued by NASA/MSFC for a high voltage magnetron power supply to be used in a Technical Demonstration experiment on the International Space Station (ISS). The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate methods to increase the oxygen recovered and recycled on the ISS as part of the Environmental Controlled Life Support System (ECLSS). This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. NASA, George C. Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) is hereby soliciting information from potential aerospace solution providers for a high voltage power supply to be used on the ISS. The solution provider should have the capability to deliver a proven system that could provide power outputs of approximately 5 kVdc at 0.5 A max to power a 2450 MHz, 1.25kW, Magnetron. In addition to this output, a power output of approximately 4.4 V at 14 Aac would be required for the filament transformer. The dc input power source for this power supply would be from a 120 Vdc, 25 Adc power feed on the ISS. The purpose of this RFI is to identify the potential solution providers that can deliver this high voltage magnetron power supply and meet the requirements with the responses as described in Attachment-A. The completed Response Instructions Form (Attachment-B) is requested from all interested parties by 2:00 p.m. (central), November 27, 2017. Currently, no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it shall be synopsized on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service and on FedBizOpps.gov. This RFI synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment or obligation by the Government, nor shall the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents shall not be notified of the results. All responses to this RFI must be in the form of a PDF document, not exceeding 10 pages (not including cover page), submitted in electronic form via email to Karen Cunningham at karen.cunningham@nasa.gov with cc: to Melinda Swenson at melinda.e.swenson@nasa.gov no later than 2:00 p.m. (central), November 27, 2017. The body of the email message should identify and provide the name, institutional or organizational affiliation, address, telephone number and email address of the primary point-of-contact for the response. Other key institutions, companies and individuals collaborating on the RFI response should also be identified.
