Page 1 of 3 This is a sources sought for the BT VAMC to determine the availability of potential sources (and their size classification relative to NAICS 561730 having the skills and capabilities necessary to provide plant care services in accordance with the attached SOW. All interested vendors are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought including, commercial market information. This is not a solicitation announcement. No award will be made from this sources sought. Requested information should be submitted by email to vanessa.jacobs@va.gov by 12:00pm EST October 24, 2017. Provide only the requested information below. REQUESTED INFORMATION STATEMENT OF CABABILITY: Submit a brief [ Five (2) pages or less] capability statement explaining your capability to perform services for the BT VAMC. Include past experience in performing these services for the VA, other Government (Federal or State) agency, or for a private medical facility.. BUSINESS SIZE AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS: (a) Indicate whether your business is large or small (b) If small, indicate if your firm your firm is a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) (c) Include the DUNS number of your firm. (D) Provide your firms FSS or GSA Contract number if applicable. STATEMENT OF WORK SCOPE OF WORK FOR INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR MAINTENACE OF PLANTS AT THE BALTIMORE VA Purpose: To care for and replace (as needed) plants at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. THISIS FOR A (5) YEAR CONTRACT Government Requirement: Vendor to do the following work for the Baltimore VA Medical Center: 1. The following maintenance work will be done to the interior potted plants in the lobby area of the 1st floor and atrium on the 3rd floor: a. Watering: Plants will be watered weekly with the proper amount of water to adequately fit the nature of the plants and their respective locations in the building. b. Feeding: Plants will be fertilized as needed with balanced fertilizers for the type of plants. c. Cleaning: Foliage of plants shall be cleaned/dusted at least one (1) time per month. Dead and/or broken foliage and limbs will be pruned and any dead/fallen leaves will be removed weekly. Excessive dirt/dust build up on plants caused by construction or any other manner outside the "normal" dust/dirt build up on the plant foliage will be cleaned and billed for on a time and material basis. d. Polishing: Foliage of plants shall be polished one time per year e. Integrated Pest Management: Plant material shall be inspected weekly {at time of scheduled watering) for infestation of pests. Manual removal and/or spot treatments will be performed, as the need arises. Contractor is licensed by the Maryland Department of Agriculture to perform treatments to indoor plants. f. Interior Plant Replacement: Any Interior Plant listed under this contract that becomes sickly during the term of this contract shall be exchanged with a plant similar kind and size. Any interior plant listed in this contract that dies during the term of this contract shall be replaced with a new plant of like kind and size. Damages and or death to plants resulting from pedestrian traffic, fire, flood, wind, acts of God, extended heat or power failures of sufficient duration to damage plant health.(the lower limit of temperature as a steady state is 65 degrees F. for plant survival), Moving of any plants to different locations than initially specified without prior notice, lowering light levels below those which were originally specified without prior notice, introduction of any liquids into the plants soil such as but not limited to: cleaning chemicals, alcohol, sugary fluids, toxic gases such as ammonia from floor cleaning and stripping etc. Damages caused by client, their employees or customers of the client any other circumstance outside the control of the contractor including but not limited to: vandalism and/or theft of any plant is not covered by this contract, Atrium plants include: (16} Adonidia Palms, 9-10' (45) Bamboo Palms,14" GP (45) Schefflera 'Arboricol a' "Bush Form", 14" GP (75) Dracaena 'Janet Craig' "Limelight",10" GP (12) Dracaena 'Mass Cane',10" GP (15) Sanseveria trifasciata 'Laurenti',10" GP (2) Dracaena 'Mass Cane''"Branched", 14" GP (1) Ming Aralia, 17" GP (72) Dracaena 'Janet Craig'"Compcata, 6" GP (7) Chinese Fan Palm, 14" GP (30) Zamioculcas zamiiflia, 14" GP (2) Ficus 'Alli', 14" GP Main lobby plants: (2) Aglaonema Jubilee, 10" (5) Majesty Palm, 12" (12) Dracaena Riki,6" 2. The following maintenance work will be done to the Exterior landscape areas: a. Police entire exterior of property weekly, (12 months), including raised planters, city sidewalks, and tree pits. b. Early spring clean- up: * Prune all trees and shrubs, knockout roses to be pruned to approximately 18" * Clean out all planting bed areas, removing leaves and debris. * Apply pre-emergent weed control to help prevent weed growth. * Fertilize all plant material. Apply approximately 2" of dark brown mulch to all planting areas including tree pits where the grates are removable. c. Spring Planting: (18) Hibiscus *(12} flats assorted annuals d. Maintain all trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials each visit (weekly) Water exterior annuals and perennials *Remove weeds from planting areas control weeds in sidewalks and tree pits e. Fall Planting * (12) Flats of pansies * (18) Ornamental grasses The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required.
