- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Veteran Owned Small Businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Place of Performance: Department of Veterans Affairs, Marion VA Medical Center, 2401 West Main Street, Marion, IL 62959-1188. The intent of this Sources Sought Notice is to identify potential offerors capable of providing all the labor, oversight, materials as specified, equipment, tools, supplies, consumables, insurance and expertise to perform the work that is identified below as required by the Marion VA Medical Center (VAMC) at the Marion VAMC campus located at 2401 West Main St., Marion, IL. The contractor shall hold an R boiler stamp issued by the N.B.B.I. (National Board of Boiler Inspectors) that authorizes the structural repair of boilers. The following is the list of equipment covered under this agreement: MOHAWK BOILER | Model 4-5-1506 | Built 1988 | Serial #: 10639 All work will be performed in accordance with this SOW; all local, state, federal, international codes, and VA requirements. The contractor shall remove 10 boiler tubes as identified by the boiler inspector. The contractor shall furnish 10 new boiler tubes, 2-1/2 diameter by 161 long. (Materials: SA 178 Grade A Boiler Tubes) Remove old tubes, check tube holes. The contractor shall install the ten replacement tubes, rolling the tubes into place (using a power roller). Review work with Code Inspector. The contractor shall fill boiler and hydrotest tubes for leaks. The contractor shall provide their own fire watch. The VAMC Marion, Il safety officer shall provide a hot work permit to be signed by the contractor. The contractor shall remove old debris. Period of Performance The contractor shall complete the work required under this Scope of Work (SOW) within 14 days of the notice to proceed. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice should be able to demonstrate the firm's ability, capability, and responsibility to deliver the service listed above. Responses should include the following information: Business name, address, business size and Socioeconomic Category (HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran, Small Business, Large Business, etc.), and point of contact to include e-mail address and telephone number. All offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (www.sam.com) and Representations and Certifications must be completed prior to any future award. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to provide the full maintenance and support service being requested. Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Important information: The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. No sub-contracting opportunity is anticipated. The NAICS (North American Classification System) code is 238220 and the small business size standard is $15.0 Million. Any offeror capable of providing this service shall notify the Contracting Officer by email within 4 calendar days from the date of the publication of this sources sought notice.
