Description
The US Army, Army Contracting Command -New Jersey (ACC-NJ) Joint Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 08706-5000 in support of Army Research and Development Center (ARDEC) Packaging Division is conducting market research for companies with the knowledge and capability for prototype/production of containers, pallets, and subassemblies, including tooling design. ARDEC is interested in high performance, durable containers for military packaging designs. ARDEC is requesting information and feedback from industry with respect to their knowledge of engineered containers that can hold a 3 PSI seal. These containers are intended to provide the government the following through the contractor: 1. The contractor shall provide prototype/production fabrication of containers, pallets and subassemblies, including tooling design and fabrication. 2. The contractor shall cut, shape, and weld stamped steel sheets into container/pallet assemblies. 3. The contractor shall coat the containers/pallets with rust inhibitors and paint (alkyd, spray or powder/e-coat) as specified. 4. The contractor shall manufacture the containers/pallets utilizing specific unique prototype/production tooling such as M2A2, PA108, M19A1, M548, PA156, PA157, PA154, PA120 or similar containers. 5. The contractor shall perform 3 psi leak testing of containers if applicable. 6. The contractor shall provide a certificate of conformance to show that the container/pallet was inspected in accordance with the applicable specification. Companies are invited to submit their capabilities and responses by providing brochures and any information pertaining to their ability to provide the above requested services/products. All information is to be submitted via email at no cost or obligation to the government; information provided will not be returned. Responses shall also indicate the size of the business entity, large or small and a copy of the most recent System for Award Management (SAM) certifications and representations. Please provide the name of the company, address, POC phone/fax number and email address. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES/SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept questions via email ONLY. This Sources Sought Notice is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or Request for Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued. If a RFP is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this website for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. The Government is not seeking, and will not accept, unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the Government is not responsible and will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in responding to this notice. This notice is open to all business concerns. The closing date for responses to this request is No Later Than (NLT) 15 November 2017.
