Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide the following equipment: Brand Name or Equal to Stratasys F370 Printer System to include onsite installation and training Salient Characteristics The 3D printer must be compatible with the existing Stratasys GrabCAD software in use, materials and credit must be available from the website consumables.studiofathom.com, and the system must meet the following requirements: 3D printer Build area must be large enough to print an entire foot orthotic or prosthetic keel (at least 14 in. long, 7 inches wide, 10 inches tall) Must be capable of printing in.005 inch thick layers in ABS (layer thickness affects minimum feature size, a key requirement for biofidelic structures). Slightly thicker layers, such as.01 or.013, acceptable in PLA System Size: 1626 x 864 x 711 mm (64 x 34 x 28 in.) System Weight: 227 kg (500 lbs) with consumables Noise Specification: 46 dB maximum during build, 35 dB when idle Layer Thickness: 0.127 mm (0.005 in.) Accuracy: Parts are produced with an accuracy of +/-.200 mm (.008 in), or +/-.002 mm/mm (.002 in/in), whichever is greater Software Must work with Windows on standard scientific computing hardware Software: GrabCAD Print and Insight licenses Materials Must print in a variety of thermoplastics and engineering resins, etc. (ABS, ASA, PC-ABS, PLA, nylon, resins, etc.) Must be capable of printing in translucent / transparent parts Must provide strong plastics with mechanical properties beyond hobby-level thermoplastics. Tensile strength of at least 30 MPa, high tensile stiffness (~ >2k MPa) Materials must not vent noxious fumes requiring special venting / filtering Installation and training Must be provided onsite at VA Puget Sound facilities Support cleaning apparatus for F370 Soluble support cleaning supplies One Year Warranty UL, CSA, CE Approved 100-240VAC/50/60Hz; 10A 46.3 Liter (12.2 Gallon) Tank Capacity Support removal system for Polyjet 120V Internal Work Envelope 11 x 12.25 x 10 inches Materials credit to obtain materials compatible with the printer Potential candidates having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated equipment are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Laura Davis at laura.davis5@va.gov no later than November 2, 2017. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. RESPONSES SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: company name, address, and business size; point of contact name, phone number, and e-mail address; suggested equipment information including manufacturer, model and delivery schedule; whether system is presently offered on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. NAICS Code 326199 is applicable to determine business size standard. Any questions or concerns may also be directed to Laura Davis via e-mail. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. The Government may or may not issue a solicitation as a result of this announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time.
