Description

Description: Invitation for Bids (IFB): Sealed bids will be received for purchase and removal of all designated timber on approximately 115 acres located on Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Main Base, Lauderdale and Kemper Counties, Mississippi, until 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2017. A public bid opening will be held at the office of the Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, 229 Allen Road, Building 427, Meridian, MS 39309-5427. This is a per unit (ton) sale. Inspection of the timber offered for sale and removal is invited and may be arranged by contacting Mr. Cliff Mayatt, Forester (601) 679-2918, or (c) (601)917-7595. General Description of Work: The work includes felling and removing all merchantable timber on approximately 115 acres as indicated on the maps which accompany this specification. All labor, materials and/or equipment necessary for the completion of the contract including loading, shall be furnished by the Purchaser. Quantities: The species of trees to be harvested, the product classifications and the estimated volumes in tons thereof, are listed in the following table: Pine Pulpwood 242 Tons Pine Chip-N-Saw 351 Tons Pine Sawtimber 5,872 Tons Hardwood Pulpwood 1,760 Tons Red Oak Sawtimber 335 Tons White Oak Sawtimber 3 Tons Misc. Hardwood Sawtimber 367 Tons
