Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, MEDVAMC, hereby gives notice of their intent to award a contract to Pitney Bowes, 2225 American Dr., Neenah, WI 54956, on a sole source basis utilizing FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition, procedures in accordance with 41 USC 253(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. MEDVAMC currently owns Pitney Bowes brand mailing systems at several locations nationwide and requires service and maintenances on the existing systems. The postage meter is an internal part of the overall system no other brand of meters will function in Pitney Bowes mailing systems. Pitney Bowes is the only vendor that can provide the internal postage meter and the systems maintenance to the already existing meters at currently in use at MEDVACM and off-site facilities. This is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received in writing within three days after date of publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide the services outlined in this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
