Description
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS&IMF) is seeking potential sources to provide Bagsuits that allow breathability while maintaining its waterproof integrity. The work will be performed under NAICS 313310, Textile and Fabric Finishing Mills. The purpose of switching to this wetsuit is in an effort to mitigate heat stress related issues. The PVC and polyurethane-coated nylon wetsuits currently do not have breathable properties; instead, they do just the opposite and retain heat. Suits with vents installed on them do not support heat exhalation. The vents are only beneficial when used in conjunction with air-fed hoods that allow excess air-pressure to vent so that the suits do not become over pressurized. PSNS does not anticipate using air-fed hoods in conjunction with the wetsuits. The purpose of this market survey is to identify if supplies are available as a commercial item to identify qualified businesses that are capable of performing this effort, and to assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. To further refine source list for efficiency purposes, this market survey request also requests that interested vendors to provide capability statement package (MS Word Document). The 15 page limitation does not include the cover letter. Vendors are requested to provide the following information in their capability statements: A. An overview of your company's management structure. B. A summary of knowledge, skills and abilities to provide/fabricate this supply. C. A list of three separate similar type contracts/orders in which the same type of manufacturing has been performed. D. Describe your company's capabilities in performing this fabrication and the ability to perform to exact measurements and design for fabrication and approval. E. State whether or not your company has a GSA Schedule, and if so provide the contract number with the Schedule. F. State whether or not your company is a small business or large in addition to the Cage Code. Questions covering this requirement are to be forwarded to jacqueline.edgerton@navy.mil. Responses are due by November 14, 2017. This request does not constitute a request for quotation or proposal. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this request or to otherwise pay for the information. Furthermore, it does not restrict the Government as to the ultimate acquisition approach, nor should it be construed as a commitment by the Government.
