1. SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR Proton Gun Part # 14160-P5kV to 160kV Proton Source. H+ current 1uA or greater 5uA Best Effort(BRAND NAME OR EQUAL TO) A. INTRODUCTION 1. This is a Sources Sought synopsis being conducted pursuant to FAR Part 10, Market Research. This is for planning purposes only and there is no solicitation available at this time. 2. This is an initial step in the planning process for the delivery of a Proton Gun. The Government is contemplating award of a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order. 3. The 377 MSG/PKB at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico, seeks potential sources To provide one (1) brand name or equal to model - Part # 14160-P5kV to 160kV Proton Source. H+ current 1uA or greater, 5 uA on best effort basis as descrined in part D. to include FOB-Destination shipping to Kirtland AFB, NM 87117. 4. Delivery Date: Preferred 30 Day After Receipt of Offer (ARO). 5. The North American Industrial Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The small business size standard is 1,000 employees. B. INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS: 1. All businesses capable of providing this product are invited to respond. Any information provided to the Government as a result of this sources sought synopsis is voluntary and the Government will not pay for any information submitted. Respondents are requested to submit capability packages electronically, as described below. a. Requested information listed below must be received no later than 1100 hours (Mountain Standard Time) on 14 November 2017. b. GOVERNMENT RESPONSIBILITY: This Sources Sought Notice is not a solicitation, and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. Any information submitted by respondents to this sources sought is strictly voluntary and any offer submitted by such a firm will be evaluated without prejudice. D. SALINE CHARATERISTIC: • This source will be mounted on a 1.8 m x 1.8 cylindrical vacuum chamber (Jumbo chamber). It is pumped with both a turbo molecular and cryo-pump to a base pressure of ~10-7 torr. o Ion species: H+ o Working distance: 1 m o Spot size: >15 cm diameter Full Width Half Max o H+ beam current: >= 1uA with 5 uA best effort o H+ energy: >160 keV o The source will be mounted on a 6" or 8" ConFlat flange. o This system should have safety interlocks to prevent accidental electrocution as well as vacuum interlocks in shut the system down in the event of a vacuum dump. o Ability to remotely control the source using user supplied data acquisition hardware (i.e. National Instruments) o LabVIEW control software is highly desired
