Description
Vessel to deploy and recover scientific equipment at Matanzas Inlet, Florida In Accordance with Performance Work Statement The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award to SKIDAWAY INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY, located in SAVANNAH, GA for Charter shipping vessel to deploy and recover scientific equipment at Matanzas Inlet, Florida. The period of performance is 01/15/2018 thru 05/15/2018. SKIDAWAY INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY services are required by the USGS to implement the National Ocean Policy Implementation Plan as referenced in Executive Order 13547. The R/V Savannah is part of a fleet of coastal/local class research vessels operated through a Federal and university consortium known as the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS). T he R/V Savannah is the only coastal/local class vessel operated by UNOLS with a homeport located between Georgia and Fort Pierce, FL, close to the USGS study site at Matanzas Inlet, FL and it has the schedule availability to accommodate this USGS scientific activity between January 15, 2018 and May 15, 2018. Additionally, a vital part of these services SKIDAWAY INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY is able to support is appropriate shore facilities to assemble and test the USGS deployment frames as part of mobilization, and disassemble and pack as part of demobilization after the recovery cruise. In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
