- Military Sealift Command Synopsis THIS IS A SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or Request for Quote/Proposal/Bid and no contract or purchase order will be awarded as a result of this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications, or drawings available at this time. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. The Military Sealift Command (MSC) Norfolk has a requirement for the upcoming Mid-Term Availability (MTA) on the USNS JOHN LENTHALL (TAO-189). The period of performance for this requirement is to commence on 09 May 2018 for a period of forty-two (42) calendar days. The USNS JOHN LENTHALL has a length of 678 ft. and beam of 98 ft., an anticipated arrival draft of 20 Ft Fwd 27ft Aft not including a minimum draft clearance of three (3) feet beneath the keel at mean lower low water (MLLW) (tide ranges may be considered), and is 20,706 tons gross. Work is to be performed at the Contractor's facility on or about the above mentioned dates. Area of Consideration is East and/or Gulf Coasts. Major work items associated with this availability include JP-5 Contaminate Tank painting, DFM Contaminate Tank Painting, King Post Cracking Repair Stations 4&6, STBD Main Engine 104,000 HR Overhaul, Main Switch Board Circuit Breaker Repair, Thermograph and Switch Board and MCC Repair, Wire Way Collar repacking, EVAP Replacement, Walk In Freezer Box Installation Replacement, Gaylord Hot water tank install, Smoke Stack Indicating System, Life boat Davit inspection and testing, Life Boat inspection and Testing, Rescue Boat Inspection and testing, and Rescue Boat Davit inspection and testing. This requirement will be solicited as a 100% Small Business set-aside. All responsible sources may submit a Bid, Proposal, or Quotation in response to the solicitation which shall be considered by the agency. The estimated issue date for this solicitation is on or about 19 December 2017 with an estimated closing date of 24 January 2018. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted and can be found on FEDBIZOPPS ( https://www.fbo.gov ) under solicitation number N32205-18-R-4006. All requests must provide DUN & Bradstreet number and CAGE code. The appropriate NAICS Code for this procurement is 336611. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential source as a result of this synopsis. There are no responses due based on this pre-solicitation notice.
