- Description
- Operations Division, Navigation Management Branch is requesting the SV GEORGIA - starboard main propulsion diesel engine service by an authorized Detroit Diesel Marine Dealer/Mechanic. This is a Full and Open Procurement. 1. Point of Contact (POC): (Invoices/Access/Technical) Jim Bodenrader: (912) 652-6112 James.A.Bodenrader@usace.army.mil Cone Bostwick/COR: (912) 210-3580 Cone.S.Bostwick@usace.army.mil 2. Location: The SV Georgia is located at the USACE Savannah District Depot on Hutchinson Island. The physical address is 99 Grand Prize of America Savannah, Ga. 31421.The contractor will be required to perform the service at this location during USACE working hours, Mon-Fri; 0630-1500. 3. Background: SV Georgia- The starboard main propulsion diesel engine was noted to have bubbles in the overflow tank for the cooling jacket water system. Further testing revealed the cooling jacket water system pressure in excess of 14 PSI, while noting significant pressure increases with increased throttle. Normal system configuration utilizes a 7 PSI vent/vacuum cap. Suspect combustion gas/pressure is entering cooling jacket water. Contractor will inspect, diagnose, and provide repair recommendations for cause, and repair/rebuild. 4. Period of Performance: The estimated time for completion is within 28 calendar days after award date of contract. ** Coordination for access and initiation of work should be completed between the contractor and the POCs listed above with 5 calendar days after award date. ** 5. Requirements: Inspect, diagnose, and provide repair recommendations. A modification to the contract may be issued based on the results of the findings, recommendations of the contractor, and approval of USACE. a. Application: MARINE As this is intended as a diagnose and repair service contract it is incumbent of the contractor to address any discovery of other mechanical issues that will need to be addressed, which would prevent a successful test run, in order to return the SV Georgia back into service. USACE may modify the existing contract or issue a new separate contract solicitation to correct any discovered deficiencies or mechanical issues.
