Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The Government intends to award a fixed price purchase order to CellGenix, Portmouth, NH 03801. The CPS is responsible for the manufacture of human cells and tissue-based products utilized in phase I/it clinical protocols for transplantation, adoptive immunotherapy and gene therapy conducted in the Clinical Center at the NIH. Cell processing procedures are tailored to each of the 30 or more different patient-care clinical research protocols supported. The is a Good Manufacturing practice (GMP) standard reagent that is needed to supports new NCI Pediatric Oncology Branch clinical protocol, in additionto other protocols (see#5) which our lab will use to manufacture cells. This vendor is the only supplier regulated per the FDA and IRB four our clinical protocols. CellGenix cytokines are used in the preparation for the treatment of patients with Deficient Severe Combined Inimunodeficiency (SCID) patients enrolled in a FDA approved clincial protocol. In order to improve the transduction of the CD34+ cells with the vector which corrects the gene deficiency, the CD34+ cells are stimulated with cytokines and growth factors including thrombopoietin (TPO). Without these cytokines, it is not possible to correct the patients CD34+ cells and lite patient cannot be treated as outlined in the protocol.
