Source Sought This is a Source Sought notice. This notice does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote or invitation for bid. This Source Sought is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability of qualified Vendors performing work relative to NAICS 115310 with a size standard $19 Million. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract will be awarded for this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any cost associated with providing information in response to this announcement. All responses will be provided by e-mail response. No presentation will be scheduled. In accordance with the FAR Part 10, Market Research, the Tahoe National Forest is seeking to identify any vendor qualified to perform Hazard Tree Mitigation which includes Hand felling designated Hazard trees from campgrounds and Day Use areas within the Tahoe National Forest. Treatment Requirements include: Hand felling, end-lining, skidding (when necessary),and transport of saw logs and slash to disposal sites elsewhere on Forest Service land. Additional work will include cutting, piling, and removal of previously downed trees (possibly decked), Limbs, and designated live conifers, existing slash and forest debris from previous operations/events. Application of borate compound to stumps, stump grinding (when necessary), and restoring recreation sites is also required. Equipment used to haul, pile, deck shall have rubber tracks or wheels in project area. All Equipment and vehicles accessing disposal Site (Stockpile Road) must be cleaned before traveling off-pavement on National forest Service lands and is applicable for every trip to the disposal site. Approximately 500 trees will require cutting and approximately 250 downed trees will need to be hauled to disposal site. The location of Hazard tree mitigation is on the Sugar Pine Reservoir Recreation complex and includes Giant Gap Campground, Shirt Tail Campground, Manzanita Day Use, Forbes Unit, Sugar pine Boat Ramp, and Dump Station. Felling Trees must be accomplished before 20 May 2018. Areas affected by LOP (Osprey first.25" rain after Oct 21st through Aug 3) are Manzanita Day use area and a portion of Shirttail Creek Campground.
