Description
The purpose of this Amendment is to provide the Government responses to questions and formally incorporate into solicitation W911QY-18-R-IM. The proposal due date has NOT been extended and remains 16 December 2017. Acknowledgement of Amendments is required as shown below and must be included in the submission of the proposal. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF AMENDMENTS: The offeror acknowledges receipt of amendments to the synopsis solicitation numbered and dated as follows: AMENDMENT NO. DATE 01 12 December 2017 The above amendment section must be filled-out in the event that an Amendment(s) is sent to the offeror or posted to www.fbo.gov and must be returned with the RFP package. The following is hereby incorporated and made part of solicitation W911QY-18-R-IM: 1. What is the current inventory and fielding management system in use? The Army uses a mix of Government directed software and Commercially developed software for their fielding management system (primarily SMART and Balance Flow). Knowing how the government utilizes these packages to determine ordering periods, stock manipulation, delivery schedule, just in time awards, size shortages etc. is a key aspect the vendor will need to know to be able to hit the ground running after contract award. 2. What additional software systems are currently in use for this effort? Within the Logistics Management Division, SMART and Balance Flow are the primary software packages used. That being said, there are times when system like "ism" are looked at to see stock positions on the "Big Army Central Issue Facility Side" but this is rare. 3. What level of integration is required? The solution provider must be able to integrate their Inventory Management solution into the current processes and not recreate the processes. 4. What format does the existing databases utilize? Current systems or databases are stand alone or government developed and will not allow a solution that changes those systems. The IM solution must be flexible enough to work within the currently available software.
